Committed to Helping You Become the Best Version of Yourself

Forty years ago, Dr. John St. Clair began his practice with a passion for bringing hope and self-confidence to his patients. He founded his practice on the bedrock principle of striving for “Excellence in all things, and all things for His glory.” Now, 40 years on, we have a renewed mission at St. Clair & Massey to create a fun, loving environment where our employees can flourish. This bold vision for our employees to grow and develop personally, as well as professionally, is rooted in our desire to provide a place where they have the servant’s heart to help you become the best version of yourself.

A Family Of Excellence

Dr. John’s pioneering vision and influence continued into the next generation of the St. Clair family. Dr. James St.Clair his nephew, was inspired by the tradition of excellence he witnessed in his uncle’s life and work. As far back as elementary school, James wanted to pursue a career that incorporated his interest in science and art, while sharing his love for people. When James was 12 years old, John, recognizing his nephew’s talent and potential, challenged James to pursue a career in orthodontics and someday join his practice. Throughout high school and college, James served as a lab technician and assistant for St. Clair Orthodontics.

After completing his residency in orthodontics in 1999, Dr. James fulfilled his dream and officially joined the practice. Continuing the tradition of a patient-centered practice, Dr. James brought with him the desire to provide a more comfortable and faster solution to achieve the same exceptional result for which Dr. John had become known. With this in mind, they invested countless hours of continuing education learning how to provide the best patient experience with exceptional results. They discovered these patient-centered goals could best be achieved through a revolutionary new way to practice orthodontics: The Damon® System.

Building On Tradition

St. Clair Orthodontics was built on a firm foundation that Drs. John and James St. Clair wanted to continue far into the future for West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. As John looked forward to retirement, they began searching for an exceptional orthodontist to continue the legacy, “Excellence in all things and all things for His glory.” They could not have been more pleased when Dr. C.C. Massey joined the practice in 2010. Dr. Massey had the same heart in customer service, providing excellence in orthodontics, and bringing his own additional strengths that distinguished this practice as the premier center for orthodontic care. Together, with Dr. Massey in the practice, St. Clair Orthodontics was pleased to announce its new name, St. Clair and Massey Orthodontics, in 2012. From 2018 to 2021 Dr. Peyton Cometti joined the practice before leaving for his hometown in Wyoming to continue his career there. Dr. Cometti was instrumental in implementing Virtual Consultations as well as 3D printing, and provided excellent patient care.

Dr. C.C. Massey

Dr. CC

Dr. C.C. Massey was raised in both West Texas and Eastern New Mexico and has found it incredibly gratifying to be back in the area where he was raised. While attending Abilene Christian University, Dr. Massey spent his summers in Lubbock teaching special education summer school for LISD. “The three summers I spent in Lubbock teaching were some of the most rewarding times in my life,” he said. “It formed in me a love for serving others as well as a heart for the community and people of Lubbock.”

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from ACU in 2004, Dr. Massey pursued what he felt was a calling to healthcare by attending Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas from 2004 to 2008. Upon finishing in the top four percent of his dental class, he was then selected to continue with his specialty training in orthodontics at Baylor’s prestigious orthodontic residency program. While at Baylor, Dr. Massey enjoyed the honor of having three scientific research articles published as well as earning the Harry Sicher Award for the top clinical research completed in the field of orthodontics in 2010. In February of 2011, Dr. Massey had the opportunity to sit before the American Board of Orthodontists. He became one of the youngest board certified orthodontists in the country when he received Diplomate status after completing his exam, a distinction less than 30 percent of American orthodontists now hold. Upon completing his residency in August of 2010, Dr. Massey and his wife, Kimberly, moved to Lubbock to join the St. Clair’s family practice.

Dr. Massey describes his faith, his family, and his profession as the most important things in his life. He and Kimberly have been blessed with three amazing boys: Austin, Colton, and Judson, and one daughter, Evelyn. They attend Redeemer Church in Lubbock, where they love leading their gospel community group.
